Andrzej Mostowski

(1913-1975) Foundations of mathematics (recursion theory, first order logic, model theory, second-order arithmetic). He was influenced by Kuratowski, Lindenbaum and Tarski. During the war he continued working in the 'Underground Warsaw University' but after Warsaw uprising of 1944 much of his research was lost(some reconstructed later). From 1946 until his death he worked at the University of Warsaw.
