Leo Fuchs ( Laybl Springer )
(1911 - 1994) was known as the comedian from Galicia. A leading actor of the
American Yiddish theatre, Leo Fuchs has also played comedy characters in
English-language productions. Leo Fuchs was starred as Nat Silver in the
Yiddish-language American Matchmaker (1940) and was featured in such
films as The Frisco Kid (1975) and Barry Levinson's
Avalon (1990; as Hymie Krichinsky).
